love is waiting.
tonight women’s bible studied ended with all of us girls on the floor praying, some with tears in our eyes, and love on our hearts. we are all those princesses sitting on the floor, in our pretty dresses, all dolled up, waiting for our prince to come help us up. we all want that mortal feeling of love from our prince, even though we all have the eternal love of a prince, a king, with us all the time. and while we may not have met our prince, He will place people in our lives that we get to fulfill those needs we have, like the joy of getting to say “I love you” or the comfort of a hug or having someone to talk to and share things with. love is waiting. and while we wait, He blesses us with many other people who fulfill the needs we long for. He doesn’t want us to be alone or to feel alone.
with matters of the heart we often come impatient. I have given it to Him, I don’t want to pick who I’ll be with for the rest of my life, God knows my heart better than myself and in His timing and only His, will I be blessed with the perfect man. But until then He will let us get a glimpse of what it’s like, whether it be with someone for a short time or just admiring another couple. He doesn’t do that to make us sad, but to let us see what it’s like and to make us realize that it’s all worth waiting for. He placed on my heart this, “and this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. learn to love appropriately. you need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. live a lover’s life, circumspect (careful) and exemplary (commendable), a life Jesus will be proud of.” Philippians 1:9-10
